Latest Update

Posted Friday, May 6th, 2011

I got a shipment this week…I was all excited until I opened the box only to find 2000 TRIACs…and nothing esle. All the parts are due in to the vendor this week. However, I am getting on a plane in the next hour to head to the rig. I hope to have everything at home when I get back. Then I can concentrate on getting these out.

All of the enclosure only orders have shipped or had shipping invoices sent. All of the SSRez only orders have shipped or had shipping invoices sent. If you think you should have one an don’t please send me an email from your current email address. Just send it to the sales address for wlcventures.com.

For those who do have shipments, some parts are packaged together. When this happens, the two parts are DISTINCTLY different. An example is a 1/4W resistor packed with an 1/8W resistor or a Capacitor with a shunt. I was trying to avoid using a single bag for one or two parts when the bag costs more that the part :)

Shipping…at least some

Posted Sunday, April 24th, 2011

I have been sending out enclosure order only orders for a while. This weekend I realized that all the parts I am now waiting on are for the Renards. So anyone who has SSRez or SSRez and Enclosure orders should be getting shipping estimates. I have two more left to go for now. If you have gotten an estimate, please pay the amount promptly as this means the box is sitting my study…and my wife is looking at me with “that look”!

Just for grins and giggles, here are a couple of photos. The first is 1500 SSRez PCBs and 100 Renard 64XC boards as I received them. The second is my living room full of sorted parts. It is in front of my fireplace so you can appreciate the scale of the works!

Parts for the Co-Op Sorted and Bagged

…a date for delivery….

Posted Friday, April 22nd, 2011

I got a delivery date for the PICs as latest May 4th. My trip offshore has been delayed so the parts will come in while I am gone. I will finish packing and sorting every part that I have before I leave. That leaves me about 3-4 hours of sorting when the final three parts come in.

…some answers….finally

Posted Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

I finally got some answers out of what has gone wrong at our vendor for the parts. They were using a 14 year old inventory software system that basically crashed on them. They are now inputting thousands of parts, customers and vendors into the system BY HAND. It seems that many of the parts that “were in” were in fact the wrong parts due to data entry errors (got this from the founder of the company who is now helping with the operations to get everything straightened out).

In short, all of my missing parts (replacements or otherwise) are in route to the warehouse (RS485 chips arrived but were wrong…LEDs arrived but were also wrong). This shipment should be to me by the end of next week. Now that really does not help at the moment as I will not be able to do anything with these until May 20th. All the other parts are sorted, labeled and bagged. I just need to get these done and start shipping. I apologize for the delay but this his what happens when we try to keep the cost at a pure minimum.

Some Progress

By some…I mean TRIACs. I got a partial order of these in Friday and they are sorted, labeled and ready to pack. I am still missing the PICs, the RS485 chips and the Rectangular LEDs. I am calling the vendor daily now but I am not happy with the response that I am getting.

I wish I had better news. In fact, I have to head offshore on Thursday for 28 days. This was never supposed to be a problem as all the parts were only “two weeks”. That was over 8 weeks ago :( Please stay tuned as I hope to have more information today. For those of you who are working with James, he was able to bypass some of this because he is running second coop for the SS Rens…I do not have this luxury and am pretty much stuck ATM.

A Continuing Saga

Posted Sunday, April 10th, 2011

Still waiting on TRIACs, PICs and RS485 Chips….this is getting annoying.

As for enclosure orders, I have sent out sales receipts and shipping estimates for all the orders now. If you have not received one, please send me an email!

Thanks,
Chris

Co-Op Update

Posted Saturday, April 2nd, 2011

Boards have been found…still missing PICs, TRIACs…you know, the easy stuff!

We are behind on shipping out enclosure only orders. All the sales receipts for orders received through the end of March have been sent out. Shipping invoices for many of these will go out this weekend. Please stay tuned.

Updates for New Orders

Posted Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

I have been working though all the orders received while I was on my business trip. I have gotten every Sales Receipt sent out up through March 5th. If you have placed an order prior to this and have not received an email with this receipt, please let me know.

Also, I would like to remind everyone that the PayPal account I use is for my wife’s art business. The emails sent to the addresses on this account DO NOT COME TO ME! Please contact me here or on DIYC if you have any questions.

Vendor Errors again this year

Posted Saturday, March 26th, 2011

Well, last year the vendors could not count and the post office lost 40 SSRez boards. This year they cannot get the parts right. I still have TRIACs, PICs, LEDs and RS485 chips on backorder. I have to return the Oscillators as they sent full size rather than half size. I have been promised a completed shipment next week so I should be getting these out soon. I have everything sorted and bagged that I have in hand now. Oh, I am back at home from my trip lol.

Enclosure Only Orders are Shipping

Posted Saturday, March 5th, 2011

I am in the process of sending out shipping information for orders that have only enclosures. I am leaving for a buisness trip on Sunday so if you want these shipped out before I leave, I need the shipping paid for before noon on Sunday. Thanks!!

We are still waiting on PICs, Triacs and PCBs
